Do you ever find yourself under attack as a Christian on your school campus. Satan hates Christians on his territory and you know that verse that says Satan is like a prowling lion looking for an opportunity to kill, steal and destroy? That is a reality on a secular campus.
You don't have to be much of a strong leader to do a "STAKE OUT" on your campus and begin to see things turn and since God has already placed a few Christian professors, staff and students at your school, sometimes its just a matter of finding out who they are. The first person to ask is the teacher/faculty leader of your campus Christian club. If they are not interested you can just do it as a group of students. As students on a campus, especially a College Campus - you have alot of rights - especially as a Christian Club - rights like the freedom to practice your beliefs in a way that does not directly interfere or prevent that same right to others. Also the right to free speech and to exercise others in a "non-discriminatory way"
In fact, Christians on college and high school campus' have been some of the most laid back of all clubs. (YAWN)
On a local community college here in California, the homosexual club is allowed to bring groups of others with similar ideas on to campus from a local State University for rallies, dinners and IN YOU FACE type of events. Yet, no one ever questions this and teachers and faculty members (professors) join in calling it DIVERSITY.
The Latino club builds a massive ALTAR each year for the worship of ancestors with live candle fires and incense burning all day long. I mean this ALTAR is IN YOU FACE as well at over ten feet tall and 50 feet wide. It doesn't mater if it OFFENDS you as a Christian that an GIANT Altar sits in the middle of campus for the worship of Aztec Gods and Dieties and ancestor worship. Any complaints are ignored as a CELEBRATION of DIVERSTY instead of relgious activity.
Each year, several times a year things like this occur on campus's around the USA. But CHRISTIANS sit there complaining on campus because of them, but totally clueless about what they can do. They don't want to offend anyone or stir up trouble. Some will talk about the idea of putting up a Nativity Scene at Christmas which never happens and wouldn't matter much anyways since its become commercial. But try to do that and see if campus Administrators don't make you take it down. You can have a Altar to false Gods, but not anything pointing to Jesus. Jesus is according to many school systems is bring in THE CHURCH into the state.
O.K. so what do you do?
A better question is Why Do You Want To Do It?
If your answer is you want to see a Jesus Revolution on your campus and God bring change, new christian administration - teacher and staff, if you want to see students turn to Christ, then you have to do something REVOLUTIONARY.
What do you do?
Let me introduce you to THE STAKE OUT - How To Take A Campus For Christ.
Tom got together with the Teacher who oversees the campus Christian club and asked them If the club would be interested in doing a Stake Out (something he felt God was telling him to do) and they went and asked the student leaders of the campus' club of Christian students if there was any interest. Tom had to do it this way because he was not a student and it would have to be student initiated and organized to make it possible since STUDENTS have all of the RIGHTS.
They wanted to do it so he called all the REAL and TRUSTWORTHY Christians he knew on campus pf Staff and Faculty and they said they wanted to do it to.
Then Tom met with the Christian Club leaders after school hours and they researched the bible so they knew what kind of authority God has given us as Christians over the territory and land we are in so there was a clear understanding. They also researched situations in the bible like Abraham, Moses, Elisha, Elijah, Daniel and Samuel who God had used to speak prophetic or claim land for God.
After this Tom and the two leaders of the campus Christian Club wrote out a PROCLAIMATION of their authority and things they wanted to see God do at the school and on that land.
Basically a Declaration that was claiming the campus and the land it sits on for the Kingdom of God, They were claiming salvation and deliverance of the students, that God would remove all opposition in the campus and bring favor to those who belong to God for sharing Christ, for protection of those of us who belong to Christ, for REVIVAL on campus, and to proclaim the tearing down of witchcraft, new age spirit, counter sexual bondage, etc. Then to ask God to bless the land, salvation, etc.
Tom and the leaders wrote all of this out on paper and included the verses they found that would be used for declaring authority in Christ. Tom took their notes and It was typed up into a double sided single paper.
Over the next few weeks the students invited Tom to come and speak to the club, staff, professors about how this would work, what it meant, why we were doing it, etc. Tom explained that any of them could do this and he was nothing special and he didn't even like to get up in front of people to talk - he told them that when they go to a four year university, they could do this there too. Though Tom was a part-time student he was also worked for the campus so he was limited in what and how he could be involved but fortunately the leaders of the Christian Club on campus were ready to lead.
There were one or two club members who got real religious and questions that were not biblical but were ideas of tradition from their church. Tom thought they wouldn't go for it and it was important that everyone be in agreement and keep the activity confidential.
During a rainy day in March about 30 people - consisting of teachers, school staff and majority of students gathered during one of the Christian club meetings.
Tom had taken some pipe parts that he found at Home Depot in the plumbing department and put a flat cap on one side and a pointy cap on the other end to make sort of time capsules that they could place the PROCLAIMATIONS in. He also had obtained some little bottles of annointing oil and small sledge hammers.
After taking communion together (Lord's Super) with just a cup of grape juice that bread was dipped into (to keep things easy and simple) they prayed for protection for everyone there and the Christian Club leaders annointed everyone with oil and asked that God would bless us as we went out.
Those present were then split into small groups. Each group had a leader that had already been instructed on what would be done, given a secret map to the location they would take their group to and then sent to the North, South, East and West sides of the campus.
Each of the leaders of these four groups had someone who could lead worship or at least a Protable CD Player and at the edges of the campus sang some worship songs. Someone was then asked to READ or Shout the PROCLAIMATION towards the center of the campus while everyone there prayed or shouted in agreements with the PROCLAIMATION. Essentially the PROCLAIMATION was a written out prayer with supporting scriptures for each thing they were asking God to do.
The student leader of that group then asked if everyone was in agreement to indicate by saying AMEN. Some of the students, staff and professors in the groups had everyone who was in agreement to initial the proclaimation before they sealed it into the pipe Stakes.
(Prior to the stake-out Tom had hammered some wood stakes from Home Depot into the places where the groups would be given maps to. He painted or put red coloring on the end of the stakes so they would be easy to see. He had also choosen locations where the groups could go about their business without a lot of attention. Like by a tree, or on the other side of a parking lot by some grass, etc. Placing the wood stakes in advance was in part to indicate the location where the pipe stakes would be placed but also to allow the ground to be easier to accept the pipe stakes. Tom had also told the leaders to bring a back pack in advance to carry the mini-sledge hammer in and the metal pipe stake. Since the metal pipe stakes when put together looked a little like it might be a pipe bomb - the leaders were told to put them together at the location so they were just empty hole pipes and if questioned they were told to indicate that these were TIME CAPSULES that they were going to place a club proclaimation into. No one actually asked or bother the groups, especially since staff and faculty were present.)
After reading the Proclaimations, the papers were rolled up and placed it into the Metal Pipe STAKES and the group leader annointed the hole in the ground where the wood stake had been for over a week. As they poured the oil onto the land, they dedicated the land of the campus to Jesus Christ.
Then someone who had the mini-sledge hammer in their back pack hammered the pipe under the ground as deep as possible so no one could see it and no one would trip over it. Getting the stake down as deep as possible is important even if you have to dig a little so no one removes it later or trips on it.
Each group then prayed facing the campus for students to receive Christ, opportunities to share Jesus, etc. for current students and for future students. They asked God to heal the broken hearted, to set the captives free, for deliverance and salvation and other things. Each group was praying and proclaiming the same things so that though they were separated by the distance of the campus - all 30 people were proclaiming and asking God to come onto the land and bring REVIVAL.
The group leader then prayed for everyone and they went their own ways.
Changes began to occur very slow on the campus - and it was not until about three years later that things began to change. Campus staff began to desire and come to Christ - God was doing all the work. Quite a few managers and administrators who had been supporting the anti-Christ activities on campus suddenly were foreced to resign or were demoted from positions of power on campus. New students who were Christians suddenly started coming to the campus and sharing Christ. And something very interesting happened - That year that God first began to move as a result - the campus newspaper reported that the ALTAR of Aztec Dieties and Ancestor Worship "had the most disapppointing turn out in the history of" that campus.
God is still moving there. Again, it took about three years for things to really begin to change after THE STAKE OUT and many of those leaders had come difficult challenges come into their life during that first year. The enemy was really upset to say the least. Yet, even during those initial three years, PEACE settled over the campus that had not been present before. The environment and attitude prior to the Stake Out had been pretty hostile towards the Christian Club on campus - but after the stake out that began to change too.
One important step that Tom and the student leaders took was to plan, meet and discuss everything confidential and none of the groups knew where the other groups placed their stakes. Each group and leader only received a map to the location on campus that they would go to. That way, if anyone for whatever decided to remove a Proclimation Stake later - they could only remove the one they were at. In fact, only one person knows to this day where all the Proclaimation stakes are to this day. Confidentiality was a big part of this Jesus Revolutionary activity for the Kingdom of God. It was done on a NEED TO KNOW basis. This turned out to be very wise, because one of the club members had taken some of the information they had received to administration. However, administration couldn't do anything because 1.) It was club iniated and done as a CLUB ACTIVITY. 2.) It was facilitated by a campus instructor who participated. 3.) Since it was being done on a NEED TO KNOW basis, the person who talked with administration who was a club member didn't have any information that would have helped. No one knew where the stakes would go. No one knew who the leaders in the club were going to be - because they were not announcing it. No one except Tom and the two club leaders who initially met to write out the Proclamation knew the exact date it would occur on until the last week.
I don't think God intended us to just bend over and take anything the enemy throws at us. To often and Christians especially on our campuses take an unbiblical "Turn you cheek idea", but you never see that in the bible. That turn you cheek verse was speaking about insults against you - it was never meant that Christians should be passive about God's Kingdom. In fact every story about Men and Women of God in the bible - they were doing radical God stuff.
Abraham was taking land, David was taking land, Solomon Davids son built the temple of the Lord, Elijah was a Jesus Revolutionary, Elisha was just as Jesus Revolutionary as Elijah, Samuel the Prophet feared the Lord not man. The Apostles did street evangelism, The Apostle Paul though he was almost beaten down in the cities he went to - kept on preaching and being a revolutionary for Jesus Christ.
Christians were never intended to live defeated - no matter how much junk Satan throws at us. As Tom and the students found out - God desired to give them authority on that schools land, and to open the doors for other to come to Christ. According to Tom, five years have since passed and the move of God on that campus continues. The enemy is still trying to trip Tom up as well as the Christians on campus - but that was happening before the STAKE OUT too. One of Tom's friend came to Christ along with the persons spouse and child last year. It is amazing, because God has been doing it. It hasn't required the students who participated to become PREACHY on campus - but God just brings people to them who need to hear about Jesus.
It's Passover! Urgent Message from Lou Engle...
Dear Friends of TheCall,
Tomorrow will be an extraordinary day in the nation. It’s Passover! All across America at every State Supreme Court, intercessors will be standing, pleading the blood of Jesus over the injustice of abortion and the courts that have legalized it. They will be praying and pleading with God for a third US Supreme Court Justice who would overturn the ideologies and laws of abortion. We are calling it “The Mercy Seat.”
From 9AM to 4PM, these assemblies will be held in each state. I will be standing with some six hundred intercessors in front of the US Supreme Court. We are praying for the Supreme Court of Heaven to rule over the Supreme Court of man. We need a mercy seat for our sins as a nation and a mercy seat on the Supreme Court where a pro-life judge will sit.
Then tomorrow evening in the solemn assembly called “Reign Down,” tens of thousands will be gathering on the National Mall in Washington, DC for a 2 Chronicles 7:14 moment—“If my people will humble themselves and pray, who will seek my face, and turn from there wicked ways, I will heal their land.”
I would like to ask you to join tomorrow in a day of fasting across the nation, praying for the ending of abortion and for judges after God's heart in America. Then tomorrow night from 6PM to 10PM Eastern Time, please join the nation in desperate prayer and repentance.
You can see the gathering on God TV or online at www.god.tv. You can also go to www.ReignDownUSA.com to find out where statewide gatherings that are joining with that assembly are being held.
Tomorrow is Passover! Maybe God will pass over America, showing us an undeserved mercy and granting us a great spiritual awakening.
