I'm Michelle Nelson. I am a second year film student at Pittsburgh Filmmakers or Point Park University (I in Pittsburgh, PA. I am nineteen years old,and as far as having done any of this before I have played the guitar for eleven years (without any serious talent), also being a film student, I have acted in friend’s films and done some theatre before, and once I even took acting classes. I can’t dance well but I still do it often. Most importantly, I suppose, is that I am by no means a great singer, and I totally can appreciate being passed up for a musical film, but if it so happened that you needed some extra help onset behind the camera, I've had a fair amount of experience being on set. I mean, I'm just thinking as a props kid, costumes, makeup, a PA, DA, gaffer, lights, sound, set, whatever—I’d be more than glad to help in whatever way I could, seriously, even manning the catering table. I understand you probably have a film crew more locally based, but I thought it couldn’t hurt to ask.

Hello. I'm Bronagh, I'm 21, and I'm from Northern Ireland. I don't really have a lot of experience singing, but I have done a fair bit of acting though and, well, I just thought I'd regret it if I didn't try. Forgive the awfulness of the video, my only recording method is a digital camera with a very weak microphone, which not only makes the whole recording sound very warped, but also makes me sound like I sing with a lisp. This was the best I could do without frightening next door's cat.

As made clear from the video, I am also a practitioner of that much maligned art, improvised jazz xylophone. Prepare to be, umm, dazzled? (I really hope this works too.)

Same thing happened to me. I can't see any of the videos on my home desktop, but I can see them on my laptop and my work desktop. Not sure why. I have the most recent flash player installed and I'm using the same browser. I hope you figure out a solution!

It's of pretty sketchy quality, as it was recorded in my bathroom, and I do indeed mess up a bit on the lyrics, but I feel the awkwardness of it all is quite descriptive of my personality and general countenance. I chose to sing the song based off of my initial impressions of it after hearing the original only a few times. I considered re-recording with something more in tune with Catherine's lovely vocals, but as this is a more pure example of my natural inclinations in intonation and performance, so I thought I might as well leave it. I would still be happy to do so, if it is allowed, especially if you are looking for something closer to the original (as it's easier to judge and compare, I suppose).

As for a bit about myself, I am one of those pseudo-hippy intellectual types, as well as a student and an aspiring designer/architect. I have always been greatly interested in the performing arts and especially music, but have always found myself much more inclined to sit and watch/listen rather than hone and exploit my own talents. This seems like a unique opportunity to embarrass myself, so I thought I might as well submit something.

My name is Grace Harnois, I'm 19 and studying english or religion or a delightful combination at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, but missing Chicago. I am, and always will be, a Music Fan (capitals are necessary here), though not a musician. I play mediocre guitar but practice far too much to try to force out some talent. My name's Heather Krumm. 23, NY. I've been acting/singing/dancing since I was 8. Musicals mostly (Maria in WWS was my fav role so far) , but I recently tried out for a co-worker's band. (they decided they wanted a guy *shrugs* oh well) I love music and this band, so I'm uber excited to try out. I can play woodwinds and guitar (chords mostly) and I can tango/ballroom dance ^.^ Right now, I'm working for A&E, but wouldn't it be terrific to do something musical again? I guess being a soprano makes this song tough, but I liked it so much I wanted to try.

talk a bit about myself you say? well, i was born, raised, and currently reside in Michigan in the States. i've spent the last few years of my life in college and abroad studying in Japan (as i was a Japanese major). i got back from a recent stint there this summer and now i'm at home trying to find a boring desk job while i dream of being a musician/singer and freak out about what i'm going to do with the rest of my life. singing is my joy and i write folky pop songs on the guitar (i also play a few other instruments, mainly woodwinds...). i've done a lot of singing in my time - choir from elementary school to college, musicals in high school, voice lessons and solo competition, karaoke in Tokyo, or anywhere and everywhere just to pass the time away a little more pleasantly. when i'm not singing i'm 24, an amateur photographer, avid concert/movie/museum goer, and enthusiatic novice vegan baker.

I was in a car yesterday. We were going to pick apples and Belle and Sebastian came up during the drive. (apple picking and corn mazes are what cool kids do in New England)

About four hours ago my friend linked me to the contest and here I am. I like that it’s due tomorrow so I can’t overanalyze it all that much.

we play music for jesus and it’s amazingly fun. and splendid. and fulfilling.

I like: talking to people about faith, eating Indian food, and reading… a lot. And I also like the students I’m teaching this Fall, many of whom are young moms under the age of 18. They’re just really really courageous… and funny.

Now that this is done, I'm going to go read short stories for my creative writing class with a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich.

I look painfully awkward, but had no time to come up with any kind of concept- we only had the video camera for an hour or so!

Anyway, my name is Matt, I'm a 25 year old writer. I play the odd spot of guitar and have played in a duo, but I really have very little experience- I just like singing and playing for fun really. I live near Oxford in the UK and enjoy going to gigs, clubs, pubs etc. GSOH- wait, I've slipped into writing a dating advert. I also love spinning tunes on the decks, building up a big dance floor and then completely ruining it by playing something un-danceable, probably evidence of some rooted destructive tenancies.
