in 2004 with Country & Western style cover versions
of famous pop, rock and hip hop songs, for example

and "Hey Ya!" by OutKast.
They incorporate stereotypical American cowboy
behavior into their act. The wear stetson hats,
tank tops, large sunglasses, display whiskey bottles,
and yell heehaw. The band refers to their music style
as "Country Trash Punk Rock.

Band History:

2004 -
The band was formed in Berlin by Boss and Hoss and named after the ononymous song by the The Sonics. They were featured in the trendsetting music show Tracks (on the French/German tv channel ARTE) and played live during the Kiel Week. In late 2004 they signed a record deal with Universal Music Domestic Division.

2005 -
Release of their debut album "Internashville Urban Hymns" and a promotional contract with the ice cream producer Langnese, for which they covered "Like Ice In The Sunshine", the theme song from a Langnese's TV spot. The band played about 180 concerts that year.

2006 -
BossHoss provided the soundtrack for the soccer movie "FC Venus".[8] Release of the first single „I Say A Little Prayer“ on April 28 and the second album "Rodeo Radio" on May 19. Half of that second album were own songs, the other half cover versions. After they had released that second album, their first album rose into the charts again, sold 100'000 copies until the end of May 2006 only and became a gold record in Germany. BossHoss played a lot of concerts in Germany and at summer festivals all over Europe.

2007 -
BossHoss will play in Canada in March, at many European festivals during the summer and a tour in autumn is also scheduled. The third album is to be recorded in March and released in September.

Jonny Olsen, Miss Jane Comerford, Markus Schmidt

Biography:

The first country act to ever reach the finals of the famed Eurovision Song Contest, Germany's tongue-in-cheek Texas Lightning reclaimed the sound and style of classic honky tonk for the postmodern era, resurrecting classics by Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline as well as more unconventional choices including "Highway to Hell" and "Like a Virgin." Australian-born frontwoman Miss Jane Comerford formed Texas Lightning with German music veterans Jonny "The Flame" Olsen (vocals/guitar), Markus "Fastfinger" Schmidt (guitar/banjo), Uwe "Friendly" Frenzel (double bass), and Olli "Ringofire" Dittrich (drums).

After making its debut performance at the Hamburg club Knust on December 23, 2000, the group remained largely a cult phenomenon until 2006, winning the German heat of the Eurovision Song Contest with the Comerford original "No No Never" and ultimately finishing the event in 15th place. "No No Never" later topped the German charts upon its official release, selling in excess of 300,000 copies. Its success also buoyed Texas Lightning's 2006 debut LP, Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch...
